After seeing the various side effects of pharmaceuticals, including the death of my mother due to conflicting prescriptions, I turned to natural remedies and raised my family with them. One of their favorites, even now, is what we dubbed "HOMEBREW TEA", that came to me in a dream. This, we discovered, when taken when feeling 'something' coming on, would surprisingly intercept or reduce the symptoms significantly.
The basic recipe for this tea is nice, as it is very flexible. One can add other medicinal herbs to the basic recipe as needed.
"HOMEBREW TEA BASIC RECIPE"
EQUAL PARTS CRUSHED WHOLE HERBS:
RASPBERRY LEAVES
PEPPERMINT
SPEARMINT
CHAMMOMILE FLOWERS
1/2 PART CRUSHED ROSEHIPS
For added nutritional benefit, I like to add RED CLOVER or ALFALFA
For fevers, I add YARROW
For congestion, I add MULLEN
For stress, I add CATNIP
For liver/gall bladder issues, I add BLESSED THISTLE
Etc., Etc.
You may add the herbs in equal or half parts to the entire recipe, or just a pinch to a teaspoon full for a cup, a generous pinch to a Tablespoon for a small teapot.
