Baby Wheezing :(

Do you have any remedy for a 8 month old who is suffering from cough,runny nose and wheezing? This is the second day already. I used baby rub, steam,and also the nebulizer as prescribed by the doctor but the condition is still the same. My baby feeds well but cant sleep :( your help will be very much appreciated.

Hello Lhawang,

I remember how scarry that was when my baby would be wheezing. It's a good sign that your baby is still eating. The first thing I'd suggest is to take your baby off of dairy for a few days.

The next thing I suggest is to make sure you have your vaporizer running at all times and only fill your vaporizer with cold water and a pinch of sea salt. Never fill it with hot water from your tap because it will have lead in it and never use that oily crap you can buy to put in a vaporizer. It only makes the condition worse.

Make sure you give your baby plenty of fluids, fennel tea is really good for baby's and congestion problems. You can read about it and find recipes if you go to the button on the left that reads "Medicinal Teas". Look for the link that says "Fennel Tea Recipes".

I'd also suggest you give your baby some 7-up at room temperature and flat. Just pop the lid and let sit at room temperature. Also, mash up a ripe banana and give as much as your baby wants. Be patient, nothing is instant relief, but I do believe this will help your baby rest and stop wheezing in a day or two.
