VINEGAR AND BROWN PAPER TOWELS

by DOUG
(TEXAS)

WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER, MY FRIEND AND I GOT SUNBURNED AT THE BEACH. WHILE EATING LUNCH,AN OLD LADY NOTICED WE WERE HURTING. SHE TOLD US TO LAY DOWN ON THE BOOTH SEATS. SHE SOAKED BROWN PAPER TOWELS IN VINEGAR AND LAYED THEM FLAT ON OUR BACKS AND INSTANTLY YOU COULD FEEL THE HEAT BEING PULLED AWAY. BELIEVE IT OR NOT, THE TOWELS WERE DRY FROM THE HEAT.I HAVE USED THIS METHOD FOR YEARS WITH KIDS AND GRAND KIDS. TRY IT. YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID.

Sunburn & Apple Cider Vinegar
by: Grandma

Hi Doug,

Thank you so much for sharing your tip on sunburns and apple cider vinegar. I had to smile about the brown paper towels. I pictured the kind you might grab from a public rest room.

I've used apple cider vinegar for sunburn over the years and although the smell can turn you off it really does help relieve a sunburn and help prevent blistering. I've never tried pouring it on brown paper towels or any kind of towels to draw out the heat. I'll have to remember that.
