Sparkling clean stainless steel pans

by Marge Flesner

After frying meats in a stainless steel pan, there is always a white residue left in the pan that is almost impossible to wash out. My husband just puts a couple of tablespoons of white vinegar in the pan, swirls it around, waits a few minutes, then scrubs it as usual. Result, beautiful sparkling stainless steel pan!

Vinegar
by: Barbee

Hi Marge,

I have used vinegar for ages. The CLR that is advertised, has nothing on vinegar. In fact vinegar is one of it's ingrediants.

I also have problems with the white residue in my pots and like your Husband, I also just put a bit of vinegar into it and in minutes it is gone.

I use it in my coffee makers, tea kettle, iron. If your water is hard.Make sure you steam out all the vinegar first, before you iron anything.

I rub the vinegar around the inside of my SS sink and then use a rough pad and just scrub a bit and it glows.

I will take a few cups of vinegar and put it in my dish washer, then let it run a cycle. It will take out the stains on the walls.I also use it in the rinse cycle dispencer, instead of the spot remover. It works just as well,if not better.

Where I used to use bleach, to get the stains out of coffee mugs,I now just let vinegar sit in my cups for awhile.

The uses are endless. The vinegar that I use,I just put it back into a jug of it's own.I write on the container, used vinegar and I am able to use it over and over again.

On some things that are hard to get clean,if you can heat the vinegar, then put it in and just let it sit,you will see results.

I hope I have helped you out with some new ideas.

Barbee

White Vinegar and Stainless Steel Pans
by: Grandma

Hi Marge,

What a great tip! The only thing I ever cook with are cast iron and stainless steel, I don't like that non-stick stuff at all. I have noticed that white residue in the bottom of my stainless steal after cooking meat and even after you wash the pan you can still see some white streaks at times, no matter how much you scoured it. I will, without a doubt, give your husband little white vinegar trick a try.

Thank you so much for submitting that tip Marge,

Grandma
