Sea Salt on Grass

by Sylvia
(Georgia, USA)

Hello Grandma,
I hope this letter finds you and yours doing well.

My question is about sea salt. It is one of the ingredients you recommended to help kill dandelions. I know first hand that table salt will kill weeds and grass so will the sea salt in this mixture do the same?

As always, thank you for your wisdom.

Sylvia

Dandelion

they will come back if you do not kill the root, do not know if vinegar has that ability..
One sure way is run a screwdriver down the side of the shaft of the plant and grasp stem and SD and pull out, ...with the root.
did many in my time...hated it when i was a kid...maybe was my dads way telling me he loved me..

Salt & Weeds
by: Grandma

Hi Sylvia,

I suppose sea salt would do, maybe a bit more gentle as far as getting rid of weeds, personally, I'd use table salt it's so much cheaper. Actually, I prefer using vinegar on weeds. You can use either apple cider vinegar or white distilled vinegar. The white vinegar has so much more acid and really gets the job done.

My family and I are doing well. We are all very excited about fall finally arriving. The weather has been so much cooler and less humid and all the wonderful Fall Festivals are lining up weekend after weekend in our area of the world. Thank you for asking!
