Silverfish Tips
by: Grandma

Hi Karen,

The Tanglefoot is found in your hardware store or just buy an sticky paste that won't dry out fast, the idea is to attract the silverfish with the oatmeal and they get stuck in the paste.

The molasses and vinegar they'll eat and the acid in the white vinegar will kill them, especially if they carry it back to their nest.

You could also try adding lavender oil to cotton balls and place them in the drawers with your clothing. They don't like the smell of lavender.

Remedies for Silverfish
by: Grandma

Hi Karen,

I'm so glad you enjoyed visiting my website. You can try putting packets of silica gel in your drawers and bookshelves. Silverfish love humidity and the dryer you make it the more they want to leave.

You can also set traps if the silverfish are out of control. Take a piece of light cardboard and place some Tanglefoot on it and place some oatmeal in the center. The Tanglefoot is very sticky and they can't escape. Wait for while and just pick the cardboard up and throw away. You could also mix 1 part molasses in 2 parts of white vinegar, then apply mixture to any cracks or holes where they tend to reside.
