There are different kinds of dandruff, oily dandruff and dry dandruff. For oily dandruff rinsing your hair after shampooing with apple cider vinegar can help relieve your dandruff problems and keep your hair shiny and manageable.

Dry dandruff should be treated with warm olive oil before shampooing. Just warm a small amount in your microwave and massage into your scalp and let soak in for about half an hour, it's good to wrap your hair in a towel during this time.

Listerine (original)is also well known to help treat dandruff problems. You can also squeeze a fresh lemon and apply to your scalp to help relieve the itch before shampooing. Sometimes you just have to experiment to see what is right for you.
