Kidney & Leg Problems

I'm having a lot of trouble with my kidneys. I also have very swollen legs espically below the knees. They are tender when the slightest pressure is on them. I retain a lot of fluids. How can I safely flush out my kidneys and body of toxins and fluids?

Kidney Infections & Fluid Retention
by: Grandma

Hi,

The first thing I'd suggest for your Kidney infection is to start drinking all natural cranberry juice. Try drinking it throughout the day, a full glass maybe three times a day. Cranberry juice will not only naturally flush out your kidneys and bladder, it will also help prevent the infection from settling in your bladder once the infection starts flushing through. Cranberry juice has a way of sticking to the lining of your bladder and actully puts a protective shield to prevent bacteria from sticking.

I would also suggest going to your health food store and buying dried Bearberry leaves, dandelion root and Goldenseal. Mix equal parts of all three of these herbs and brew a nice herbal tea. Let the tea steep for at least 15 minutes and you can sweeten it with honey. Drink this tea through the day. This is a natural diuretic (will flush the built up fluid from your legs), and this mixture also has natural antibiotics to fight the bacteria in your kidneys.

I'd also suggest eating plain yogurt mixed with fresh blueberries once a day. Blueberries are full of natural antioxidants and the yogurt will restore any good bacteria that is being distroyed by your infection and the antibiotics.

Also, make sure you are drinking plenty of spring water throughout your day. It's important to get those kidneys flushed out. Don't think that because you are retaining fluid you should limit your fluid intake, that will only make your kidney problems worse and give the bacteria incentive to grow. Plus dehydration is one of the worse things you can do to your body's health.

Take care,

Grandmas
