Hi, my name is Alice and im 16....a couple days ago my butt started itching really bad, I started becoming really tired all the time and yesterday I saw white specs in my poop that looked like worms. I know i need to tell my mom but I don't know what to say. Do you have any advice on what to say to her?

Trust in Your Mothers Wisdom!
by: Grandma

Hello Kaylee,

What a brave and intelligent little girl you are! I'm so impressed that you did some research on your health issues and decided to write to me.

Please honey, tell your mother what has been going on. Two years is way too long to put up with this kind of disorder. Parasites can be serious and just what is happening to your rest is a sample of what kind of health issues parasites can cause. I don't want to scare you anymore than you already are, I'm sure you've already read what parasites can do after a long period of time. Believe me honey, your mother will be so happy that you told her, and once you do tell her you'll be so relieved. She will probably want to take you to the doctor and your doctor will probably want a stool sample.

I wish I could pull you close to me right now and give you a big hug and tell you everything is going to be OK but you are way too young to try using home remedies for something as serious as parasites. You need your mother right now, that's why God gave you a mother. This does not mean that you are dirty in any way. Parasites can be picked up just about anywhere, school, public restrooms, even in fast foods. Believe me honey, your mother will not be disappointed in you, maybe a little because you took so long to tell her but she'll also be so proud that you finally did come to her and trust in her wisdom.

Please let me know how things work out, I'll pray for you and your mother,

Grandma

Children & Parasites
by: Grandma

Hello,

It's hard to know for sure if your child has worms or some kind of parasite. Do you notice a red circle around his rectum? You should also notice a white milky secretion or tiny pinworms on his underwear or in his stool. You should take a stool sample to his doctor or an herbalist.

The herbs recommended for pinworm or parasites are pretty harsh and can cause diarrhea and/or vomiting so I wouldn't recommend them to a child unless he was being kepts an eye on by an herbalist. Simply because the dosage has to be high enough to kill the parasite.

Anytime I suspected my children had pinworms I would mash up garlic cloves and mix it with butter than spread it on either a piece of bread or crackers and give this to them a couple of times a day for several days. This has always seemed the best method for my children and pets.

There is also something called "itchy bottom syndrom". If this is why you suspect your son has worms, because he's scratching his butt a lot then this may be what you're dealing with. The remedy for this can be as simple as making sure your toilet paper doesn't have perfume in it. Or making sure he is cleaning himself good enough after a bowl movement. Bacteria loves to find warm, moist area to grow and this will cause severe itching.
