Homemade Infused Oil with Rosemary and Garlic

by Beccie
(North Carolina)

Grandma, Beccie here. I love garlic and rosemary salad dressing. I tasted some the other day that they wanted to sell. I want to make my own. He mentioned that they infuse the oil with the rosemary and garlic. My question????? How do you infuse oil with your favorite herbs? Thank you Grandma, I love you. Beccie

Garlic and Rosemary Dressing
by: Grandma

Hi Beccie,

Geez, that word infused is a new one to me when it comes to salad dressing. But I suspect they must be talking about cleaning fresh garlic and rosemary and putting it into olive oil and let it stand for a few days. I know a lot of people do this to keep their garlic from going bad and they use the olive oil over their salads (it's really good).

I just want to warn you Beccie, be careful where you buy your garlic and make sure it's grown in the United States. I learned this the hard way. I bought a bunch of garlic at the super market and it just tasted awful and went bad really fast. I checked at the super market and found out it was shipped here from China. The same thing is happening with mushrooms, even the canned mushrooms. I'm super fussy about where my food is grown, I always prefer buying at the local farmers markets but when you have to buy produce from the super market always check to see where it was grown. Ever since my dog died from the dog food gravy that came from China I am real fussy about all the food I buy.

Love ya Beccie,

Grandma
