Home Remedy for Oily Skin

by G. Diane
(Stratford, ON Canada)

Listed in your Home Remedies is one for dry skin. Do you also know of one for very oily skin causing sacs (containing oil) to form on the skin? This oil then drys and there is nothing but surgery to get rid of them. Not all the oil will form into sacs. It sits under the skin and comes out like little strings.

I have had this problem for most of my life. I am 65 years old and would like to get rid of this problem.

I have just been looking over your site looking for this remedy and have thoroughly enjoyed my tour. Have come across several remedies I am going to try.

Thank you very much for your remedy site.

Sincerely,

Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash
by: Anonymous

I went searching for this product and found that it was only available in the US. I contacted Walgreens, where they supply it, but they did not deliver to Canada. So now what?

Googled for a substitute for Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash. Came up with Johnson's head-to-toe baby wash which has the same ingredients as the Purpose product, so that problem was solved.

Now for a stupid question. .....one tbsp olive oil, one tbsp lemon juice, one tbsp aloe.... this is to be applied to the skin as a toner, correct?

Thank you again for a wonderful website. Have been telling people of your site and all the natural remedies you offer.

Oily Skin Problems
by: Grandma

Hello G. Diane,

Goodness, I have never heard of oily skin problems to that extreme. It must have been awful for you.

When I was a teenager (many, many years ago) I had a problem with oily skin and breakouts. I tried all kinds of home remedies to dry my skin but it just seemed to get worse. Until one day I read an article about oily skin and how trying to dry it seems to make it oilier. So I started eating an apple everyday and started mixing a tablespoon of olive oil, a tablespoon of a fresh squeezed lemon juice and a tablespoon of aloe. It didn't take long before I was getting compliments on my skin.

I don't know if this will help you but I think it's well worth a try. And the apple everyday would be good for many health issues at our age.
