Grandma, Tea Storage Question!

by Matthew Pfeifer

Grandma,
I was reading your material about medicinal teas, great information!
I did have a question about tea storage in general, should tea be stored in a certain type of container? Or should different spices be kept in different material containers. Ex. Chamomile in oak and eucalyptus in stainless steel?

Medicinal Tea Storage
by: Grandma

Hello Matthew,

I've never heard of storing herbal tea or spices in certain container like you listed. I'm really not sure if you're asking about teas you buy or herbal tea you have grown. But, I think the most important thing to do is store your tea in a tightly sealed container to keep it fresh. And most important, if you are growing your own herbal tea and aren't going to use the fresh leaves or flowers you need to make sure you completely dry it before storing it. Never make or drink a tea that might have mold or fungus growing on it.
