Addtiction & Remedies
by: Grandma

Hi Jacqueline,

There are so many addictions to deal with today. I honestly feel that the habit is actually worse than the addiction. Our brains become comfortable with habits and makes us feel better to just keep the habit up instead of dealing with it. I realize nicotine is addicting, and it's something you have to wean yourself away from but once you figure out how much of your smoking is nothing more than a habit it makes it easer to go without nicotine for longer periods of time. And finally you realize if you can go that long without missing the nicotine you can kick the habit.

Think about every time you light a cigarette, is it when you're on the phone or driving or just after you eat? Notice how many times you really weren't craving the nicotine you just out of habit lit a cigarette. Instead of lighting that cigarette pop a piece of gum or Lifesaver in your mouth instead. See how often you can do that before you are actually craving the nicotine.

I think you'll be surprised once you see how much of your smoking is nothing more than a habit that makes you feel comfortable holding that cigarette in your hand. It's mind over matter and once you make your mind up to really quit, you will, just pay attention to your habits.
