Dermattitis & Essential Oils
by: Grandma

Exposure to chemicals, stress, illness and medication can all contribute to dermatitis. Since there is really no cure the main concern is to reducing the severity and frequency of outbreaks.

Have these outbreaks on your face and hairline isn't common. Using olive oil to baths the areas frequently can relieve the dryness and inflammation. Just add about an ounce of olive oil to a quart of water and dip a washcloth in and dab the area several times a day.

You can also try essential oil of peppermint. It's an effective remedy to treat day, flaky or itchy skin. Just mix about 8 to 10 drops with a few cups of warm water and dab your skin every 2 hours.

You can also try Tea-tree oil. It destroys bacteria and fungi and prevents germs from penetrating inflamed skin. Just add 8 - 10 drops of tea-tree oil to 2-3 cups of warm water, dip your washcloth in it and place the cloth on the affected area for 15 minutes. You can repeat this many times through the day.

Adding some flaxseed, fish or evening primrose oil to your diet can improve the skin. YOu should also be eating a lot of fruits and vegetables and drink enough pure spring water through the day.

I'd also think about food allergies. Pay attention to when you have the outbreaks and what you've been eating, or what chemicals you've been exposed to.
