Diverticulitus - Stomach Gas and Bad Pain and Bloating

Hi information if you have to get rid of bad pains and stomach bloating. We are going to a nutritionist and not a reg Dr they had bad information for him and he was doing so well on eating with the rite combination of foods and not eating the things she said for him and then bang a set back :( his stomach is gas bad and rolls and is hard at times and pain in the intestines.

Any information on doing any thing is much appreciated ty so much,

I had a colonoscopy this summer and found out I have a mild case of diverticulitis. This summer I went camping(off grid) and apparently caught a parasite/bacteria called Giardia. I tried using a "zapper" electrical device to rid myself of the problems- severe diarhea, bloating, loss of appetite, some pain. Helped some, but it seemed to keep coming back, so I finally went to a regular MD and he put me on a drug called "Flaggell" for seven days. Very powerful, knocked me out for 7 days. I finished the drugs 3 days and still having the bloat and not a lot of appetite.

Any/all suggestions appreciated, but especially a natural tonic for the bloat.

FYI, I am male, 58, have been in good health before this started. Mahalo.

Caren, I'm not sure what paoin is, I'm guessing it's a medication for stomach pain. I have no idea what kind of diet he's on so I'd suggest contacting your nutritionist and asking some serious questions, it just might be a matter of eliminating something or adding something to his diet.

we havent gone off the nutrionlist food plan just had a flare up and dont know why we need to get rid of the paoin and gas for him

Hello Caren,

This is extremely hard for me to answer because I have no idea if your talking about a child or adult and I wonder what diet he was doing well on and why you stopped it.

I'm going to guess that we're talking about a child and the nutritionist suspected a food allergy because that's what I suspect. My first guess would be dairy.

I'd suggest you try putting him on the Food Elimination Diet and see what you discover. You can find all the information on my website under the button to the left marked "Allergy Wisdom" take the time to read it all and also read about Dairy Allergy and the others I've written about.

When you're dealing with symptoms like this you really have to be a detective and think back about what he ate before he had this bad bout, there had to have been something to kick this off.
Start keeping a food diary of everything he eats and drinks and any reaction he has to anything no matter how slight it may seem at the time. I also suggest that you notice any change in his mood behavior, like outburst, tantrums, nervousness, nightmares, bed wetting, food allergies can have all kinds of reactions you wouldn't think about.
