camera compatibility

Hi Grandma,
Beccie here. I have a personal question to ask if you don't mind. What kind of camera do you use. I am assuming that you are not a professional photographer. I am just a good-ole-country girl, with no technical savvy. I want a simple camera, that would take a close-up picture of those butterflies or hummingbirds or flowers. I gave up on pictures because I could not capture what I SAW. I am hoping you may have an opinion on the ease of photography.

Thanks again, Grandma
Beccie

Cameras
by: Beccie

Dear Grandma, You have come through again. I have spent the last 3 days on the computer looking for cameras. I will check out your suggestion. By now they have probably stopped making it, but will check. Again your wisdom is deeply appreciated. Beccie

Camera and Photography
by: Grandma

Hello again Beccie,

Boy, now there's where we have a lot in common. I'm a real red neck country gal myself but I do have to take the plunge and get lots of pictures for my websites, especially for my Pennsylvania website.

I've been using a digital camera and I just love it. I got it on sale about 3 years ago, it's an HP Photosmart 43.5. Grandpa got me a brand new camera for Christmas, it's a Nikon Coolpic, but I haven't used it yet. He gets so upset with me, he's always buying me new gadgets and I just hate learning to use something new when I'm so comfortable using what I already have.

The trick I use when taking digital pictures is after I load them into my computer I enhance them with a program I got free online. It's called PhotoFiltre. With the program you can crop, lighten or darken and make brighter. It's a lot of fun to play with, it takes awhile to learn how to do everything but once you do you won't worry about how your pictures turn out.

What I love about going digital is that you don't waste so much money on developing and you can just delete anything you don't like, then you can enhance anything you really like.

Hope I was able to answer your question,

Grandma
